Getting Started

The VAST/VPAID Ad Tag Validator page has several components:

• The Video Player displays the actual ad playback in real time.
• The companion banner ad (300 x 250 px) will appear in this page when the ad tag contains a companion banner.
• The Player type drop-down menu. Options include: Acudeo Player, Brightcove Player, Brightcove Chromeless Player, JW Player, Flowplayer, and thePlatform.

• The Player size drop down menu. While there are eight different size options, 640x360px (16:9) is the default value for all players.
  

• The Input VAST/VPAID tag field where you enter the specific VAST/VPAID ad tag for validation.
• The Load Ad button launches the tag validation.
• The Event Log displays the full sequence of events that dispatch during the ad's playback.

To validate a tag

1. Enter the appropriate tag in the field provided below the player.
2. Click Load Ad.
3. Watch the video playback and the Event Log table to see the events fire in real time.

More About the Event Log

The validator will auto-scroll through the events as they fire, and the event log will show the most recent event at the top of the list. A scroll bar should appear if the number of events fired extends past the Ad Event Logger container.

After the VAST/VPAID ad tag begins its playback, the Ad Events log appears in the Event Logger. Use this log to observe events and any errors that fire in the video playback in real time.
